The story of RIA Innovations may be familiar to many seasoned advisors. Frustrated after their regional firm was purchased by a wire house, Greg Headrick and Nelly Mubashi searched for a better way to serve their clients. They could move to a new regional brokerage firm, move to an independent brokerage, or join a local registered investment advisor, but none of these options offered what they really wanted – a client centric organization where they could run their practice their way. In 2008, after months of due diligence, Greg and Nelly assembled the multiple partners, services, consultants, and technology tools needed to start their own registered investment advisor – NWAM, LLC dba Northwest Asset Management.
The firm flourished and matured as they continued to refine their mix of service providers, vendors and in-house support professionals. Friends in the industry watched the growth and asked for advice on how they could join Northwest Asset Management or start their own registered investment advisor. After years of experience and converting dozens of advisors onto the platform, the infrastructure that built Northwest Asset Management now supports over $3.2 billion in registered investment advisor assets and is available through the RIA Innovations brand.
